Business Office

The Business Office offers payment plans to students that are interest free. Typically, the payment plan is broken up over the academic year (from August-April) for campus students. Payments are required every 30 days. If a payment is not made all semester, the student will be set up for auto pay. This will create a hold on a student’s account for non -payment. Once the conditions are met for a hold to be released for registration purp oses, the holds will be placed back on a student’s account to prevent the release of an official transcript from SMWC.

Holds are placed on a student account when the account is delinquent. Please advise the student to visit the Business Office to discuss their payment options. This is not an Advisor function.

In certain instances, a student may be offered an agreement with the Business Office that if they go ahead and sign a payment plan and successfully make their first payment, they can still register for more courses. Advisors should always contact the Business Office for more questions.

A student could be sent to collections for bad debt if they do not make payments to their balance.

A student can request a transcript if they owe money to the college; however, as of right now, that transcript will not be disbursed to the selected school until their bill is paid in full.

There are certain times where a student can be registered for the next semester when they still have a balance. Please contact Kara or Kari for questions about a specific student’s situati on.

Payment can be made in the summer to be applied to the prior spring term. If the student is registered for fall but make no payment towards their fall balance, the student will be dropped from their courses. Please note that there are higher course fees for Equine, Music, and Nursing.
