Admissions
The Admissions Office communicates with students who are interested in attending SMWC, campus visits, or are filling out an application for admission.
Students interested in scheduling a tour would go to this website: https://visit.smwc.edu
During the admission process, students will start by filling out the free application on the SMWC website. Students who have never been to college will also send their official high school transcript or high school equivalency (GED). If the student has attended college, SMWC needs their official college transcripts if they want to transfer in college credits towards a degree. Admissions Counselors may also begin a conversation about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). SMWC also accepts the Common Application. Standardized test scores (ACT/SAT) are no longer required for admission but are required in a situation where a student has a merit-based scholarship. Some things that Admissions Counselors look for in an application is attendance, participation in anything extra-curricular, and grades. There is a separate process for students who are not admitted to the college for reasons like low GPA. Advisors will not be part of this process. Please contact Admissions if there are any questions about that process.
Admissions hosts a variety of events. There is an event calendar on their website, found here: https://visit.smwc.edu
