Student Affairs
Student Affairs coordinates just about everything for students outside of the classroom, living on campus, student activities and organizations, health and mental health services, dining, campus ministry, student employment, and leadership and service opportunities to gain the experiences that will develop your transferable skills and build your resume. Sara is a go-to person for student support. She is a great resource for questions and problem-solving including roommate conflicts, housing, and employment at the Le Fer Front Desk. Aimee is the associate vice president for student affairs and oversees the department of student affairs. Additionally, she coordinates new student orientation. She is an advocate for all Pomeroys. She is a great resource for assisting students when any issues or problems arise. • The SMWC Student Counseling Center is free, confidential, and available to all undergraduate students. • Kalista, the Campus Counselor, meets with students individually and provides group sessions throughout the year on a variety of topics. If her door is open, you can also just stop by to say hi and grab a snack while you’re there. • Kalista assists with everything from homesickness and stress to anxiety, grief, and loss. She can also provide referrals when needed. • Scheduling a time to meet with Kalista is easy. It can be done online, in-person, or by email. • SMWC also has a telehealth program for students called TimelyCare: Telehealth for Pomeroys. This program provides students with access to 24/7 medical, mental health, and health coaching support. Cortney Cross the director of residential life and student conduct oversees our 2 residence halls, Le Fer Hall, and Les Bois. Living on campus really enhances the college experience by being a part of a community that helps you learn and grow outside of the classroom. The center and community spaces of each floor give students the opportunity to build new friendships, study, socialize, and gain skills to become leaders of the SMWC community and beyond. Sacred Heart Chapel
The campus ministry exists to meet the spiritual needs of students. They offer resources to assist students in exploring and examining the spiritual component of their lives. Campus Ministry offers individual spiritual direction, small group Bible studies, weekly and monthly events, alternative Fall and Spring Break mission trips, intercessory prayer, and more.
