Plagiarism Taking credit for someone else’s work and has undesirable consequences in higher education

Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) A multiple-choice test used to measure a high school students’ readiness for college; consists of two sections: math and evidence-based reading and writing
Semester Fall semester/Spring semester; a semester runs for 16 weeks; Woods Online semesters are 8 weeks
State Grants Grants award to the student through the student’s home state; grants are generally needs -based and do not need repaid Subsidized Loan A loan where the U.S. Department of Education pays for all interest accrued while the student is in school, the 6-month grade period, and deferment Syllabus A document provided to students from their professors indicating rules, expectations, learning outcomes, and assignments for the whole duration of the course Transcript A record of a student’s official course history, including courses taken, grades, and when the courses were taken
Undecided or Undeclared A student enrolled in courses but has not yet chosen a major
Undergraduate A student who is seeking a bachelor’s degree
Unsubsidized Loan A loan where the student is responsible for the interest accrued in school or a student can have the accrued interest added to their principal loan balance
