Dr. Lin serves as the senior advisor to the Asia Organization Development (AODN). She received the UIndy Meritorious Award for 45 years of dedicated teaching, administration, and service, and the Phylis Lan Lin School of Social Work and Counseling is named in her honor. Dr. Lin received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Missouri in 1972. She is a prolific writer and editor in Chinese and English, including numerous research papers, monographs, and books such as Organizational Behavior, Stress Management: Enhancing Quality of Life, Marriage and the Family, Crisis Intervention: Theory and Practice, Service-Learning in Higher Education, Medical Sociology, etc. She organized and chaired the International Symposium on China, the International Symposium on Service-Learning, and the International Symposium on Families: East and West. She established the University of Indianapolis Press. The Master Au-Ho-Nien Museum, founded in 2004 at UIndy, is one of her enduring cultural legacies.
