CHARACTERS DOG…………………………………...a tired old mutt. To be played by someone dressed simply as a dog. Floppy dog ears would suffice. CAT…………………………………….an energetic and imaginative cat. To be played by someone dressed simply as a cat. Cat ears would suffice. THE BEAST……………………….......a disturbing and sinister rodent.

Quite possibly an ancient evil. To be played by someone dressed in a white morph suit. Red eyes and claws are suggested. TIME

PLACE

The residence of DOG and CAT.

SETTING The world in which these characters operate is colored by their respective worldview. CAT spends a large amount of his time digesting fantasy, horror, and mystery novels while DOG is an elderly sort and his eyesight limits him to the sometimes blurry gray, black and white. Therefore the stage should bear something of a resemblance to a noir film of old. PLAYWRIGHT’S NOTE As a child I read Bunnicula and was enthralled. I always remembered that book so fondly, not only because I enjoyed reading it but also because I was absolutely terrified by it. I recall points where the suspense was overwhelming and I had to set the book down. As an adult I returned to the story and re-read it only to find out that there was nothing scary about Howe’s story at all, it was actually just hilarious. I did, however, decide that
