Aurora

Owen: Yeah, our, living room.

(There is an awkward silence filling the air. Maya stays silent and Owen just looks at her. She hasn’t once referred to anything as theirs.)

Owen: Why won’t you ever refer to it as our apartment?

Maya: I have.

Owen: Or our living room.

Maya: I have, plenty of times.

(Maya is nervous. She knows she hasn’t, but she doesn’t want him to know.) Owen: No, you haven’t. You always refer to something as yours or mine or no possession at all.

Maya: That’s not true. Plus, why does it matter?

Owen: I guess it doesn’t, but it feels weird to me. Like you don’t want to admit it to yourself. You’re the one who suggested moving in together so it just seems weird.

Maya: It’s just nerves, I guess. I’ll get over it. Owen: Why are you nervous? Aren’t you excited?

Maya: Moving is just a lot. It’s fine, we don’t need to make a big deal out of this.
