portrait painting. She is mother to seven and has 14 grandchildren. Angela White and Matt’s sons are both at Wabash College. Casey is a senior and studied abroad last year. The family enjoyed visiting him in Dublin and taking younger son, Patrick, to see Manchester United play in England. Angela recently traveled to southern California to enjoy a visit with Mary Collins Dove and family. Mary Beth Hunter West says that 2022 was a year for traveling. Her adventures included trips to Iceland, Scotland, Florida, South Carolina and many weekend getaways in Vermont. Lisa Robison Ellis visited Mary Beth and George for a weekend, and they had a fabulous time catching up. Joan Frisz saw me during her annual walkabout at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in the fall. Joan says that not going to her 40-year high school reunion was the highlight of her year. She took a road trip to visit Paula Keeton in August, and Paula returned the visit in January. Lisa Robison Ellis enjoys working from home for Aetna as a provider relations liaison, especially when she can work on the front porch. She continues to serve as a County Board member. She enjoyed weekend trips to visit Mary Pat in Michigan and Mary Beth in Vermont. Eileen Galligan Guenther and husband Glenn are enjoying life as grandparents to Koa Joseph, Rosemary, Harper and George, all under the age of four, plus another expected to arrive in the summer of 2023. Eileen says, “So many babies and so much fun for Glenn and I! We feel blessed.” Linda Peters had brain surgery in March 2022 to remove a benign tumor. Recovery took a few months, but she is well now and will continue to have MRIs. She feels blessed and sends thanks to all of her Woodsie “sisters” who send well wishes, cards and support. After 25 years in higher education, Paula Keeton has joined a private practice and sees patients for psychotherapy both in person and virtually. She’s had a busy year of travel, with trips to Sonoma, the Outer Banks, Louisville to visit Joan, and to Scotland, England and Ireland with her niece. Barbara “Barb” Edgcomb Davis-Robinson is enjoying her new job at REMAX Results, where she runs the front desk. She spends as much time as possible with her grandchildren, Owen, 7, and Genevieve, 3. In December, she met up with Tara and me for a day of fun at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. Mary Collins Dove serves the dual role of Vice Principal and fourth-grade teacher at St. Bruno Catholic School. She and Mark are thankful for a happy, healthy family and two graduations this year- college for their eldest and high school for their youngest. Recent bucket list trips included New Orleans and Nashville. Richard and I traveled a lot last year, including a 35th-anniversary trip to Washington State and a cruise to Alaska in July, plus Disney World with our grown kids and grandkids at Christmas. He retired at the end of 2022, and we are happily planning our adventures for 2023. Judith “Judy” Coulup Hund ’13G , freshly back on the SMWC Board of Trustees, had a wonderful time with family in New York City this year. Other trips included golfing in Michigan, history in Williamsburg, Virginia and sun in Marco Island, Florida. October, they lost the head of the household: Dexter the cat. Their 32nd anniversary took Ruth Sendejas Dixon and her husband to Nashville, Tennessee, for live music and dining. They also visited her mother-in-law on the beautiful Oregon coastline for sightseeing. But the big news was the adoption of Loki, a Jack Russell mix who is a constant source of entertainment. The year was a roller coaster for Lisa Bowling . Her son got married in April, and it was a beautiful celebration. A few days later, however, her mother passed away. While grieving, Lisa is also glad her mother is no longer in pain and is reunited with her husband in the hereafter. Maria Price is setting a HIGH bar for “retirement.” She is serving as a consultant for nonprofits, providing transition management support along with writing, strategic planning and board development. She is also a Providence Associate and just started a watercolor class. That sound you hear? That’s her clogging. Rhonda Hite Smith and husband Chuck celebrated 20 years as business owners since they opened Cabins & Candlelight. They’re now officially empty nesters since their son, Braden, graduated from Rose Hulman in 2022. Rhonda still serves on the Montgomery County Visitors Bureau Board and is a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School teacher. Margaret “Mags” Short Layne celebrated her dad’s 90th birthday with an open house. Rebecca “Becky” Brown Schone was able to be there, too! Mags is the Operation Manager for Barnes & Noble at the University of Delaware bookstore. She loves being active in the Newark United Pentecostal Church. She feels so at home there. School spirit alert! Maureen “Mo” McEvilly Carmody attended her first SMWC homecoming last year. She also attended Chicago area alumni gatherings. I am extremely envious of Elizabeth “Liz” Wallin Pawlak ’s and husband Geno’s recent trips: Puerto Rico, Aruba, Key West, Clearwater and Spain! Their son is currently studying in Italy and there is an upcoming trip there, too. Liz plans to keep on keepin’ on as an orthodontist because she loves her career. Catherine “Cathy” Rumschlag is grateful (as are all of us) she caught her breast cancer early and had a successful treatment. She is now treating veterans with post-traumatic stress as part of Operation Warrior Rescue, along with her regular practice. She spent good time with family, including her first granddaughter, this year, too. Bionic woman, Lori Harris Strawn is the first to send me an x-ray. She broke her wrist and had some impressive titanium placed there for airport TSA viewing pleasure. She said she’s been stuck in the house in t-shirts and sweats: anyone want to go in on a Lindsay Wagner shirt with me? Paje Etling Felts wrote to say I’m adorable and should have been a PR major. Where was that advice when I was switching majors every semester? Paje, next time we need to hear less about the class secretary and more about those adorable children! In a fit of overconfidence, I got a puppy in March, and that one action pretty much consumed my entire year. Thank you to everyone who sent news—it’s always a joy to hear from everyone!
