Back to normal activities! Always look forward to visiting with her Woods friends and catching up! I am still teaching sixth and seventh grade ELA. Barbara “Barb” Haggerty Hoeft shared “After a nearly three-year fight, younger sister Rita lost her battle to Systemic Scleroderma in November, 2021. Within days of Rita’s death, I became a grandmother again. Dan and I enjoy our regular summer escapes to our Lake Michigan boat. We travel often to see our sons’ families, in New Hampshire and Utah and our daughter in downstate Illinois with her family. I keep busier than ever teaching Jr High Science to 140 students a day at All Saints Catholic Academy in Naperville, Ill.” Jan Giddens Lorenzano says “I am looking forward to the wedding of daughter Natalie to Luke Rogers this summer. Son Dominic and daughter-in-law Shannon’s wedding was during the Pandemic but was able to have a beautiful ceremony and reception. I recently bought my partner’s share of our business, so I am busier than ever and loving it! I am getting ready to roll off the SMWC Alumni Board which I will miss tremendously but will continue to stay connected to promote the college.” ’86 Kymberli Huet Payonk 175 Charing Cross Rd Terre Haute, IN 47803-9800 812-877-2899 k.payonk@ma.rr.com Jacqueline “Jacquie” Hutchinson Shukla is beginning a nursing job at Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, Ky. She comes home to amazing dinners prepared by her husband Bob. Life is good! Joan Frisz was excited to join friends at Reunion last year. Richard and I now have two grandchildren. Heidi is two and tons of fun and her baby brother Clark was born in February. We spend as much time as we can visiting our grown children and traveling. Richard keeps putting off retirement, while I stay busy volunteering in the community. Our class had a very small number attend our Reunion last year, with many deciding that it was not a good time to travel. In the meantime, we have stayed connected through our private Facebook group and a couple of virtual gatherings which are always a good time. Peace and blessings to all and we look forward to our next gathering, whether it is on-screen or in person. Katherine “Kathy” Shrader Mitulski had a happy change to report: “The biggest news on my end is that Mike and I are “empty nesters” - at least through June - and we are LOVING IT! Same, Meg, same! She finds dabbling in multiple art forms relaxing and centering. Lisa Bowling is very excited about her son’s wedding in April. Here’s hoping we get to see those pics at Reunion! Maria Price also had a happy change: leaving full-time work “until I figure out the next thing.” She is grateful for the 15 years she had at St. John Center, and while figuring out the next thing she is quilting, baking bread, learning clogging, and has become a kNOw Waste Ambassador.
