visit her parents, Joan Mellican Dickson ‘59 and Bob, and her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Dickson Sacco ‘92, regularly as they live in Florida as well. Tanya Clawson Leahy and Terry are doing well. They’ve been blessed to be able to explore new areas and get further south in the winter by being able to work from home. As the weather allows, I’m really looking forward to dusting off the rust and getting back to flying again. Such a soul-filling adventure! Tanya finds aviating a GREAT way to practice social distancing at 3,000 feet! I’ve been rather out of touch with my pilot friends, so looking forward to reconnecting to the aviation community again too. And of course, us, too! Last year was their 30th Anniversary, so they are looking forward to a trans-Atlantic cruise! After Erika “Jade” Hoke-Smith’s mom had a heart issue, Jade moved her mom from Terre Haute, Indiana., to Florida. The house was sold before it even went on the market. In the meantime, Jade started converting her yard to a food forest or what is also known as permaculture. She planted and amended soil and now it’s time to dig, prune, plant and mulch. They also adopted a third rescue dog in the fall. We have a chaotic household, but calm is boring. LOL Lesley Glaze is still teaching with Hamilton Southeastern Schools and Neil is still working at Lilly. We will be married 30 years in July. There have been lots of changes with my babies the past few years. Adam lives in Broad Ripple, and he works at Hydro- Gear. Megan is living in Pittsburgh. She is working with Stanley Black and Decker. Sarah is finishing up her doctorate in Occupational Therapy through Indiana Wesleyan University. That’s all from the Glazes. My husband, Carlos, just started his actuarial career late in life, but loving the challenges. After a successful fiscal year in Tennessee, her company invited her to relocate back to Chicago, Ill., to manage a new retail location (October). She also started her Providence Associate candidate year, with Alice Sherfick Shelton ‘87 as her companion. After renting for a year, they moved into a new home in Summer 2021 in Indianapolis, and the kids transitioned into their new schools. They are slowly exploring the new/old home state, hiking plenty and grateful to be closer to family. Laura Clayton Juergens says, “Things are good here. Derek is 14 years old and 6 inches taller than me. Dylan decided to run for Student Council

and was elected Secretary. Rob and I are doing well. I was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources Operations for Feeding America. Love the organization and mission of ending hunger. Miss everyone and looking forward to our next get together!” Jennifer McGuire Drake writes “Duane and I moved last year to what we hope will be our forever home. It’s a house with 4 acres and a giant screened- in porch that backs up to our local state park. Our older son Aidan is a junior in college and our younger son Evan graduated from high school last spring. He is at home, working, deciding what his next steps will be.” Rory Gillingham says “I am still at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa., and still trying to get used to the “Lake Effect” weather. Last year I bought my first home, which I am still really excited about. Over the summer I met up with Erie native Marilynn Burdick Stadtmiller ’57 for lunch. She went on two one-week RV trips in 2021, Lake Dardanelle in Arkansas and the other one to Gettysburg, Pa. Claire Patrick Barker and her husband, Ryan, celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this past September. With three kids in sports it was spent at the soccer fields. Currently in her 14th year of homeschooling her children ages 12 and 10. Her oldest child decided to attend her first year of public high school. She has spent the last couple of years becoming certified in Les Mills BodyCombat & Bodypump. She teaches at the local gym three times a week. Claire adores spending time with family, watching her children play baseball, cheer and soccer. She also has fun traveling and seeing new places. Laura McGrath Schwab would like to make a tribute to Erin Shelbourne Miller who passed away in July last year. We hope 2022 is finding you well! Our class has a Facebook group “SMWC Class of 2001.” After graduating 21 years ago, it’s been a fun way to keep us connected! Kathleen “Kate” Richardson Pattee resigned from teaching at the end of 2020-2021 school year. She is currently working with a non-profit, Youth Service Alliance, teaching neuroscience to parents and students. Her personal business is called The Deepest Well, which includes TRE and Minds in Motion. Kate still lives in Logansport, Ind., with husband Jeremy and two boys, Seth, 16, and Richard, 8. Sarah Pounds works at The Paint Shack in Glendy’s Uptown Mall in Terre Haute. Her mother, Kim Piazza, a former WED student, is the original Paint Lady. This

Like all of us, 2021 was definitely a challenge. Trevor and I made the decision to postpone our wedding due to family circumstances, but still look forward to saying “I do” when we can. I still do Home Health physical therapy, and love the challenge of it. I try and get back home to Indiana when I can to see my family when I can. Carole Price continues to support local efforts to educate others on the sanctity of life and that we are all created in God’s own image. She continues to pray for all of us. Sharon Langworthy DesHotels reports that she and Paul were able to travel to Madrid for her nephew’s wedding at a medieval castle and also time in London. She has started a new administrative role at a consulting firm, and this spring with becoming a Bonus Grandmother! Carolyn Alexander Nelson celebrated gaining a new daughter-in-law in September, congrats to Joshua and Maddie. Carolyn continues her Disney travels and saw Robin Arnold Kingery there in Feb. They also welcomed a new pup to the pack. Noel joined the family in December. Jamie Hunt Kauff says that the biggest life change this year is learning to live without her Mom. She was able to briefly catch up with Marcella “Marci” Lowry Backer at the funeral. The family is well, and she and George are working on remodeling two bedrooms. Kelley Reichert Ross reports she is still teaching for Pearson Online & Blended Learning. And both her and Bob are really enjoying living in Fishers, Ind. The big news is that they will be Grandparents this spring to a little girl! They are glad they live near her oldest daughter and husband so they will be able to enjoy the new little one! Amy Sonderman Woods with the children out of the home, Amy and Jeff both retired this year! They have been traveling the World, and heading to Honduras for a few weeks, with Sweden, Turkey, Greece and Spain planned. They welcome any suggestions of favorite places. Katherine Butler is still in Denver, Colo., and just started her 17th year as a tattoo artist! She is loving being an Aunt of five wonderful nieces and nephews. She was able to catch up with Jennifer Bryan Morgan and Carolyn Miller during a trip to Indiana. Of course, we are sending prayer intentions to one another and to our Beloved Saint Theodore. What’s next? Quite possible a bon voyage trip as we are in the early stages. I, Beverly Randolph Fernandez, created our private Facebook group, SMWC Class of ‘91, in hopes of creating what we have in such a short time, such blessings! Angela Dickson Yildiz shares that her three children are all in college now and her husband, David, and she retired early and moved to Englewood, Fla. They
