Marcelo Echague Pastore, is currently a Fulbright Scholar-in Residence from Paraguay serving at Indiana State University. Former Director of Institutional Relations and Director of Economic Studies and Financial Analysis at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Paraguay. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics -with a concentration in Macroeconomics- awarded by the Faculty of Economic Sciences (National University of Asuncion - Paraguay), a Master's in Public Policy -with a concentration in Economic Policy- from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan. He also serves as a Graduate and Undergraduate Professor for several socioeconomic subjects, both in public and private universities across the country.
He used to be a World Bank junior economist for Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay, as well as a research and teaching assistant at GRIPS for several topics. Currently, his teaching and research interests are mainly focused on financial issues, such as Financial Education/Inclusion, Sustainable Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech). He’s also acting as
