Communicating Results – using APA 7 th edition
Review all the output of the one-way ANOVA. The key is being consistent. Always review the latest APA updates.
#1 – Include the mean for all groups #2 – Include the F test results #3 – Include the sample size of each group #4 – Include the significance #5 – Include the effect size (and in the narrative indicate which one was used) #6 – Include the confidence interval (probably in a further discussion)
Keep in mind that you can have a narrative or a table but not both.
ANOVA TEST SAMPLE WRITE-UP There was significant difference among the four regions on COVID-19 mask complains, F(3, 16) = 9.951, p < .001, η 2 p = .65. Post hoc testing revealed significant differences between pairs of regions with North (M = 1.0, SD = 1.23) and South (M=1.60, SD = .89) having fewer complaints than East (M= 3.40, SD = 1.14) and West (M = 4.00, SD =0.71). These findings indicate that there are more complaints in the East and West regions. ANOVA TEST SAMPLE TABLES This table shows the significance overall, but you would not know the significance between each region from reviewing this table.
