Data Presentation for Cronbach’s alpha α There are specific APA requirements for data presentation in a dissertation. For the narrative, you would indicate the alpha, so it might read like the following: “On the scale level, four items for global warming measured α = .751, which indicates an acceptable internal consistency. The original survey included one question that was dropped. Before this question was dropped, alpha was below .60.”
