Aurora Magazine 2020

Aurora (Way too perky) Hello! Is there anything I can help you with today? We’re having a great sale on some of our furniture this week!

Owen: No thank you, we’re just looking.

Maya: Well actually…. Owen: I think we’re fine.

(Sales person walks away. Maya looks at Owen. Not upset, but not happy, either. He knows this look. It almost doesn’t even phase him. If they weren’t in public he wouldn’t even care.)

Maya: I kind of wanted to ask for help.

Owen: Why? We’re just looking for couches. It isn’t an incredibly taxing task. Maya: I know, but we don’t really know what we’re doing. We could’ve asked to see couches in our price range. Owen: I thought we didn’t really have a price range. We were just starting at $700. Maya: To me that’s a price range. I just don’t want to think I like a couch and then we look at the price tag and it’s too much. I don’t want to like something I can’t have… (This feels weird. It feels forced. As if Maya is trying to talk about something without actually talking about it. Owen doesn’t even hear it. He’s oblivious, not even listening.)

Maya: That one looks nice over there.
