Margaret Clement Slawin and her husband Mike are doing well in Minnesota. Margaret left her position as the director of development and stewardship for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, is consulting with non-profits, and loves her new schedule. It allows more time with Mike and their daughters, Lauren who is in her second year at Michigan State and Ellen who is a junior at Visitation High School. Both girls are doing well in school. jaynevirostko@gmail.com ’92 Many graduates of the Class of ‘92 celebrated their 50th birthdays in the past year. Stories of low- key celebrations and postponed trips filled the news feed for this year’s class notes. We are all looking forward to returning to our normal school and travel schedules in the year to come. We are also looking forward to our 30-year Reunion in 2022! Margaret “Peg” Bickel is still in Indianapolis and thankful to be healthy during these unusual times. She is however, recovering from helping her nine-year-old with eLearning. The struggle is real! Her family is looking forward to traveling and vacationing again sometime soon. She is thankful for good friends and technology to stay in touch. Elizabeth “Liz” Yaw sends greetings from Qatar! She will be starting her third year as President of the American Women’s Association of Qatar. She is also very excited to be a Community Leader and Volunteer for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Molly Ellsworth ’10G celebrated her 10-year anniversary at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Indianapolis. The parish celebrates its Centennial in July. Molly and her mom are looking forward to being able to travel again! London was cancelled in 2020 and they will stay domestic for another year; Folly Beach, South Carolina, is on the list this summer. Jennifer “Jenna” Roenitz Brech has finally escaped the cold weather and moved from Michigan to Tennessee. They love getting to know their new state. Her oldest daughter is engaged to be married and lives and works in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her son just took his first “real” job and lives in North Carolina. Her youngest daughter is student teaching and will graduate from college this Spring and will go on to get a speech pathology degree. Marilyn Nichols Doll has enjoyed participating in the growth of the new Stephen Ministry at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville, Indiana. They have a leadership team of four dedicated individuals that trained and commissioned the first class of just three Stephen Ministers in 2020. Her oldest granddaughter, Brianna, announced her engagement in November and is planning a wedding for Jan. 1, 2022. Brianna begins medical school later this year. Laura Kestner is excited to announce she has recently been promoted to director of human resources at Mohawk Auto Group. Laura Clayton Juergens continues to work at Feeding America. The pandemic has exacerbated the need for charitable food so her job has been very busy while sheltering in place. Rob continues to work in technology from home. Her boys are 11 and 13 and have been fortunate to be in school physically — their school has done a fantastic job with safety measures. Michelle Hollis Davis is still in Terre Haute where she is now the assessment intake specialist at Vigo County CASA. She is working mostly from home and is so thankful for technology that allows her to cover court in her jammies! Maddie is a junior in high school now and is doing school from home. She is trying to nudge her towards art therapy at The Woods! Maria Vazquez Ramos will celebrate 25 years of working in marketing and public relations for Franciscan Health this year. The pandemic hit the area of south suburban Chicago particularly hard and has been one of the greatest challenges and triumphs for healthcare workers. She and Greg will celebrate their 20th anniversary this September. Their son Greg turned 14 this year. He grew 2 inches taller than her and a mustache! He will start high school this fall. Jennifer McGuire Drake and husband Duane will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this October. She is now working from home full-time. Aidan is a sophomore at Miami and doing well. He will study abroad in June 2021 in Luxembourg. Evan will graduate from high school in May and will be attending Miami University next fall. Rory Gillingham is still in Erie, Pennsylvania, working as associate registrar at Mercyhurst University. She is in the process of buying a house, so once she is settled, everyone will be welcome to visit. Her mother passed away last summer from COVID. All the love and support that she has received from the SPs and her Woods sisters has helped her get through this difficult time. Join us on Facebook at “SMWC Class of 2001.” Jane Corbett reports that she celebrated her eight-year anniversary as an electronic services librarian at the Indianapolis, Indiana, law firm of Ice Miller, LLP. She was very excited that she provided photography for a book of poems that was released from Lulu Press in March of 2020. Sarah Pounds runs a vendor booth selling chalk paint and accessories at Glendy’s Uptown Mall in Terre Haute. Her oldest nephew is a freshman at Rose-Hulman this year and her four nieces and nephews are in different middle schools in rural Illinois. Jennifer Ousley Nord and husband Brad live in Bunker Hill, Indiana with their five children. Jennifer

in August. Later this fall, two of their children will be in college and one in high school. She is working as a school psychologist in Plainfield, Illinois. She is looking forward to seeing family and friends this year to celebrate birthdays, holidays and weddings. Tynetta Shakir is now working part time for Carnival Cruise line after working for Disney Dining for a couple of years. 2020 was a challenging year for her health wise as she broke her ankle in September 2019 and had a total of three surgeries. She is still working on walking again and dealing with other health issues so prayers are appreciated. Karleen McNeal, MD and her husband, Erlandas, have both been very busy in their health care professions during the pandemic. They now have two children in middle school and two in high school. Her boys participate in cross-country, 4-H and scouts. Her daughter plays softball and is in scouts. They are looking forward to getting time away for Spring Break and hopeful for summer camps for her children this year. Julie Ward Wagner still enjoys living in Beaverton, Oregon, with hubby Mark and their five kiddos ages 10-16. This was a big year celebrating her 50th birthday and their 20th wedding anniversary. They almost celebrated in Maui last March. They installed a heated swimming pool instead. Jayne Ann McMullen Virostko is still residing in Parke County just a mile from her parents. She is currently the principal at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Vigo County — which is the school where she started her career in 1992. Her daughter is a graduate of ISU and living in Carmel, Indiana. Her son is currently a sophomore at ISU. Her parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary the week prior to “the world closing.”

Susan “Sue” Yochum has been serving as president of Rutherford County Democratic Women for the past year and will continue in the office for at least another year. Job and family are all fine! Chandra Dorsey has gotten the opportunity to foster three puppies into forever homes during COVID quarantine. She and her husband wanted to ensure they looked back at this time with happy memories and fostering has made that possible.

Elizabeth Osella Davis says Sarah began college last fall at ISU. She is majoring in interior architecture and design. Nathaniel is a junior at Purdue. Chad began working from home last March and hopes to continue that way. Elizabeth returned to the office last June and is waiting for a return to normal.
