My Cronbach alpha α is too low Since our alpha is below .70, review the next output table since it tells you that revised alpha if a question is removed. In this example, alpha can be improved (from .585 to .751) if we delete question 3. Question 3 is: “The media portrays global warming as more serious than it really is.” It is possible that your participants a re untrustful of media regardless of any topic and that might be the reason it is not correlated well. If your alpha was above .60, you might decide to keep this item if you believe it is important for the overall construct of your survey; however, the current alpha is .585. You should omit question Recoded-Q3GW from further analysis. It doesn’t mean you OMIT or DELETE the question from the dataset; instead, you simply leave it out when you compute the scale score (and any other analysis that you conduct).
