Public Safety

The Public Safety staff can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Public safety officers patrol campus and the buildings at SMWC to ensure everything is safe. There are security cameras around campus. It is strongly encouraged that students subscribe to Pomeroy Alerts. This is an emergency text messaging system in case there is an emergency on campus or notification of campus closing. There are sirens that can be heard across campus if there is an emergency or weather alert. Students, faculty, and staff need to register their vehicle for a parking pass in order to park in the SMWC parking lots. A student can register for their parking pass through Woods Net. These passes are free, except for commuter students, who pay a $50 fee each semester ($100 for the year). If a replacement permit is needed, please contact Public Safety.

Emergency procedures can be found on the SMWC website at this link: https://www.smwc.edu/offices-resources/offices/public-safety/emergency-procedures/
